To understand what Jupiter transiting the 2nd house means on multiple levels, you need to consider all parts of the chart impacted. So in the case of Jupiter going into the 2nd, it’s casting its sight (drishti) to three other areas of the chart:
-
The 8th house (directly across)
The 6th (5 places from it)
And the 10th (9 places from it)
If you’re unfamiliar with why that is, then you should probably check out my upcoming book here, that covers everything you need to know about aspects, including special aspects of Jupiter.
Anyway – the 2nd house is the house of earning, resources, money, etc. The 8th house represents other people’s resources/money, and the 6th and 10th are both houses of work – the 10th more about career and what we do in the public eye, and the 6th more about our responsibilities and daily routine. (Please keep in mind that for now, I am focusing on a small part of what these houses represent).
So, we have Jupiter here looking at money houses and work-related houses, making this transit a reliable indication of an increase in money. When this transit hits, there are more opportunities to gain money through a change in career, from business, or other people: family, partner/spouse, or perhaps the government, etc.
Jupiter’s transits show where our awareness is growing, so this is a time of heightened interest in how to earn and manage finances. There is more focus on saving, investing, or long-term financial goals. Situations that demand being wiser with money also come up during this time.
When someone comes to me for a reading while Jupiter transits their 2nd, I let them know it’s a good time to ask for a raise, or apply to a higher-paying position. If I see that Jupiter will enter their 2nd house soon, I advise them to start working on a resume, or updating their LinkedIn so they can fully take advantage of that transit – if they so wish.
Basically, this is a pretty reliable transit for predicting an increase in income, or money coming to you more easily. I made a short video of some examples of this transit and the effects it brought into people’s lives.
Jupiter Transiting the 2nd House: Besides growth in money and job opportunities
This is also a beneficial time for health and making positive changes. This is because of the strong aspect the 6th house of health/digestion is receiving, and the 2nd house is connected to food and the kinds of foods we eat.
The 2nd house is also associated with our family, especially in early childhood. As you experience this transit, you may get more opportunities to spend time with family. I also see that when children go through this transit, they see extended family more often and benefit from all the “spoiling” of their relatives.
If you’re interested in learning astrology or timing events, you should absolutely document the events in your life, or those you know. Even events like having a tooth extracted, or buying a car can teach you a lot. It’s easy to forget things that happened once a few years has gone by, but the documentation really comes in handy when exploring transits and trigger transits.
