One of the most significant transits we experience is Jupiter transits. Jupiter’s lengthy duration in each house and the fact that it retrogrades in every sign means its transits have a more significant affect on our lives.
Jupiter is the great benefic planet that gives growth and advancement. While Saturn chisels us through hard work, discipline, and boundaries, Jupiter helps us grow with new opportunities, knowledge, wisdom, and grace. As Jupiter moves through each house, it brings a little bit of grace to different parts of our lives.
The dignity and overall strength of Jupiter in your chart dictate to what capacity it brings gains into your life. Also, make sure to check Jupiter’s transit from your natal Moon to see how emotionally receptive you are to the current Jupiter transit.
Jupiter transiting through 1st house:
Your Ascendant is the journey of your physical body and path in life. As Jupiter crosses your ascendant, it is realigning you with your path.
During this transit, you should feel new motivation to pursue what inspires you. From the 1st house, Jupiter aspects the other dharma houses (5th and 9th), boosting your creativity, sense of purpose, and optimism. You WILL be learning new things during this transit, either going back to school or finding online courses to take, new certification, learning a new hobby, etc.
Part of the way Jupiter expands our horizons is by giving us more money, and thus new opportunities. As a planet of abundance, Jupiter’s transit through the first house often occurs when people become more financially independent. This is also a period when you learn to be wiser with your finances, or you may be putting your finances towards travel or education.
Jupiter Transiting through 2nd House
If Jupiter’s transit through your 1st house was productive, and you used the time to follow your inspiration then Jupiters transit through the 2nd is about new financial gains.
From the 2nd house, Jupiter aspects the other Artha houses: the 6th house of our daily work routine and the 10th house of career. These houses are all about doing the work required to make material gains. This transit can give new opportunities with work, or a new job that brings in more money. One thing I’ve seen happen a lot is that when Jupiter is making a strong aspect to the 6th it can give new or better health insurance or healthcare.
Jupiter Transiting Your 3rd House
When Jupiter transits the third it can give more opportunities to see your siblings (especially if they live far away) or it will improve your communication with them. Perhaps it will revive your relationship and you’ll find yourself talking with your siblings a lot more than you use to.
You’ll learn new skills during this transit and it often expands your social network. From the 3rd house, Jupiter aspects the other social houses, 7th and 11th, so this transit improves your ability to connect with others. Your job could send you for new training or you’ll pick up some new skills (often around communication, technology or technical skills).
The 3rd house is the house of writing and aspects the 9th house of publishing, so you could make progress on something you hope to publish. Overall, this is a great transit for meeting new people, networking, writing, and gaining new skills.
Jupiter Transiting your 4th House
While Jupiter transits the fourth house, you can have opportunities for new kinds of conveniences, like purchasing a new car or making home improvements that enhance your lifestyle. You might also find yourself spending more time with your family. This is a good transit for matters of your home, family, and relationship with your mother. Moving to a new home is another possibility while Jupiter is transiting the 4th house.
As the house of our internal peace and happiness, this transit increases our inner contentment and mental peace.
Jupiter Transits the 5th house
Jupiter transiting the 5th house is an important time for adding to ones “legacy.” For most people, this means having a child or expanding your family. But aside from children, this is a time when you’ll make progress towards creating something of lasting value. As the house of creativity, and Jupiter being a highly creative planet, this is a great time for indulging your creative side.
From the 5th house, Jupiter aspects the 1st and 9th house making you focused on pursuing something that aligns more closely to your passion and values. Because this is the 11th from the 7th house, Jupiter here can bring gains through the spouse or gains from the social networking you have done in the past.
Jupiter Transiting the 6th House
This transit improves relationships with coworkers, or you’ll find yourself working with new, more enjoyable people. You can start taking your health more seriously and gain a new interest in diet, nutrition, or working out.
Because the 6th house is daily work routine and from this placement Jupiter aspects the 10th, you can change jobs. If you lose your job during this transit, Jupiter will give you one that is less stressful or more fulfilling.
Jupiter Transiting the 7th House
Jupiter transiting the 7th is a great time for relationships and business. The 7th house is the 10th from the 10th, as well as a critical house for Jupiter. This transit can spark romance, new friendships or business partnerships, or a more enjoyable job.
This is yet another transit that could give a child, as Jupiter is the natural significator of children and co-creating with another person. But generally, this sparks an interest in romance and leaving behind something you’ll be known for.
In order to be known, you need to be embraced by the public. From the 7th, Jupiter aspects the 11th, 1st, and 3rd houses. The 3rd and llth houses are both social houses that can increase your recognition and social network.
Jupiter Transiting the 8th House
The 8th house is all about sudden breaks and changes, but it is also the house of occult knowledge and diving deep into subjects. During this transit, you can undergo major changes in life. From the 8th house, Jupiter aspects the 4th and 12th house. The 4th house is of home, the 12th house is distant places and the 8th house is of sudden changes. Often times Jupiter transiting the 8th house will cause someone to move to a new location.
This transit often sparks a new or more intense interest in occult or metaphysical subjects.
Jupiter Transiting the 9th House
When Jupiter transits the 9th, you can start college or go back to school for a degree. From the 9th, Jupiter directly aspects the 3rd, which will boost your social life. You will be writing and communicating more, whether by choice or because you have to do it. Jupiter aspecting the 1st, 5th, and 3rd houses gives a new hobby or increase in physical activity of some kind.
Opportunities for travel, spiritual trips, or a connection to your personal truth and values. Exploring different cultures and belief systems are often triggered by this transit.
Jupiter Transiting the 10th House
Jupiter transiting the 10th brings opportunities with work or a new job. This is a great time for getting a promotion or having a new, positive change in your career. From the 10th, Jupiter is asking the 2nd house of income and the 6th house of daily routines and. This is a time when managing the material side of life becomes easier, and your work is more satisfying.
Jupiter Transiting the 11th House
When Jupiter transits the 11th house of gains it gives financial growth, and opportunities from new network circles. New team members and joining new organizations are common occurrences during this transit. You could gain a title or degree during this transit as well.
Because the 11th house is the house of gains and Jupiter represents the husband in a woman’s chart, this transit can trigger marriage. Generally, this transit is all around good for luck and prosperity.
Jupiter Transiting the 12th House
Jupiter transits through the 12th house is a time of personal and spiritual growth. If you are already a spiritually inclined person, then this is a period where you’ll make a lot of progress. Even those who are not spiritually inclined will be faced with events that make them revisit their beliefs. An example is someone who finally decides to join AA, a spiritually-based program for overcoming addictions. Though the person may not be religious, they will still benefit from new wisdom and guidance.
This can also be a time where you have a lot of expenses, as the 12th house is the house of our expenses.
As the final house and the house of closure, there is a feeling of “finally” getting something you’ve been wanting. It will come after many years of hoping for that Jupitarian thing. Some examples:
- Getting married or meeting your husband (for women)
- Moving
- Overcoming an addiction (12th house issue)
- Finishing school and earning a degree/license
- Meeting a Guru or influential teacher
- Having children or having your last child, bringing a closure to your child-bearing years
- Paying off debt
