There’s a lot written about manifesting, and there’s also a lot of confusion about how it works, or if there’s any merit to it at all. In essence, it is the acknowledgment that everything originates in the mind before it takes physical form. Once you accept that fact, it becomes easier to see how your mental habits play a significant role in bringing things and people into your life.
I’d like to explain some of the principals of manifesting through Astrology. There are two planets in particular, Mercury and Jupiter, that are the key manifesting planets. Together, these planets help us act on our inspiration, do the trial-and-error necessary to bring things into physical reality, and actually believe in our crazy ideas.
As you read, you may get a sense of whether you’re in the habit of using these planets to your advantage or not. Regardless of your chart, you can always make the conscious choice to develop good manifesting habits.
Mercury helps us manifest by Seeing the Possibilities
One of the ways people block their opportunities is with limited vision. They simply cannot see the boundless opportunities that exist, and they’re not willing to try when success is not guaranteed. A good Mercury is open to a lot of possibilities, because it is willing to try to see what works and easily discards what doesn’t work. This helps a person’s manifesting abilities, as it creates mental flexibility that is not blocked from any avenue of potential, and it helps a person do the actual work necessary to create results.
People repeat (and brainwash themselves) with restrictive phrases all the time, such as “there is no room for growth in my position.” In reality, anything can happen at any moment. A person could try to recruit you out of the blue, or your boss could sell the company and the new owner fires everyone but promotes you.
My examples may sound far-fetched but that is (kind of) the point. I’m not saying the goal is to bet on random, miraculous circumstances happening without taking any action, but the goal IS to stay firmly established in the mindset that there are endless ways your goals can be achieved. I repeat: there are endless ways your goals can be achieved. Keep your mind flexible and uplifted by knowing that truth and follow the bread-crumb trail of your sparks of inspiration.
You Don’t Need to Think of Everything
When Mercury is delighted, there is this understanding that you don’t need to know everything. This goes back to Mercury having the intelligence of figuring things out as it goes, but also making room for the universe to work some magic in your life. Chances are, if you’re trying to figure out exactly how something will happen, our narrow perspectives will only think about obstacles, meanwhile the universe knows a million different ways it can happen.
It’s ok to problem-solve, but it’s not ok to let obstacles turn into mental blocks that keep you from thinking positively or taking action. You’ll never be able to prepare for everything, you have to just to try it.
Honestly, you don’t have to figure it all out. You just have to act. For the love of God, you just have to act. This brings me to my second point:
Jupiter helps manifestation by giving you good impulses that need to be acted upon
Many people are not in the habit of following their inspiration. And, when we don’t follow those little impulses we get, we cut ourselves off from having good things happen to us. You have to learn to really jump on your impulses that come from a place of inspiration, and not muck it up with too much intellectualizing. Because the thing is, you’ll always come up with a reason not to do something. You can always talk yourself out of something, or get caught up in potential risk or whether society validates it or not.
It’s important to know that these random ideas, these “sparks” are not coming from the rational/intellectual part of your mind. This is why you shouldn’t try to reason with them, and it’s also why they can be easily forgotten if not written down or acted on.
So, where do these thoughts emerge? They come from some place better, some place more in tune with who you are and what you need. Maybe, hopefully, you believe these ideas are coming from your higher self, your soul, trying to guide you to that Jupitarian place of innate joy. If you get into the habit of following those flashes of inspiration, be amazed at where they lead you.
Unreasonable Faith
There’s a side to Jupiter that is either magical or annoying, depending on how you think of things and how your own Jupiter is situated. Basically, Jupiter is not realistic. Jupiter doesn’t care about what you think is practical, sensible, feasible, etc. Jupiter is excess, it’s more than what you need, it’s optimistic against the odds. Jupiter has faith. We all have some kind of idea or desire that feels far-fetched, but it takes real courage to humour those ideas and pursue them as real possibilities.
Faith is a critical component to manifestation because it allows you to actually believe something will happen, and then you can let go. There’s a very big difference between fake-believing, and actually believing in a crazy, unrealistic kind of way. Once you have this level of faith, and you’re following your “sparks”, you can go back to just doing your Mercury – trial and error, figuring things out as you go, exploring options, and then know it is on its way to you.
You know you truly believe in something when you can no longer imagine a future without it happening. You feel excited about it as though you already have it, because you know it is coming.
“It’s not faith until it looks like it won’t happen, and then you still believe.” – That’s Jupiter.
What are you willing to believe in?
Manifesting big hugs to you,
