The effects of planetary transits* really are like riding waves – each planet (especially Jupiter, Saturn, and the nodes of the moon) are what shape the “chapters” in our lives. Every time we feel a shift, or an event occurs, or we feel “seized” with a sudden need to learn or do something, there’s a transit happening behind the scenes. Understanding them helps us understand the ebb and flow of life.
If you learn anything about Astrology, I encourage you to learn to identify the effects of transits. For yourself, and for your partner, children, friends, and family. You’ll gain a better understanding of what other people are going through. You’ll also know what to expect and how to work with the energies currently at play in your own life.
Transits are an Astrologers most critical tool for making accurate predictions. But, for the none-astrologer, simple planetary transits interpretations can show the following:
- Events in life, such as meeting someone, relocating, buying a car, etc.
- Periods of low vitality when you should really take care of yourself
- Emotions – times when you’re more prone to depression, low-self esteem, or other emotional afflictions
- Times when you will feel and look prettier/sexier (Venus transiting ascendant!)
- Potential for losses or gains
- Which remedy would be most effective for what you’re currently experiencing
Why is this information valuable?
Knowing the effects and what to expect from transiting planets is valuable for a number of reasons. If you’re going through a rough time, understanding the transits can help you make sense of it all and see when relief is coming. Instead of a “why me” mentality, you can understand the why, or in some cases, understand that there is no reason other than it’s just time. Time to move on, time to make a change, time to become the person you are evolving towards.
Because of its importance, I will be posting on the critical transits that people experience. There are different kinds of transits – transits over bhavas, over other planets, and also positional transits that are counted from certain planets (fourth from the moon, etc). To start, I will be covering the transits through critical bhavas (houses), and then transits to the moon.
Looking forward to it!
*If you don’t know what a transit is I’ll quickly explain. It’s when a planet is crossing over/contacting points in your natal birth chart. For example: right now Saturn is in Capricorn, so if your moon sign is in Capricorn, then Saturn is transiting your moon. Or, if your 3rd house falls in the sign of Capricorn, you would say Saturn is transiting your 3rd house.
