Have you ever tried to change someone’s mind about their beliefs? It’s all but futile, isn’t it? Unless maybe you’ve read The Art of Persuasion, or….you wait till Rahu transits their Jupiter.
What makes Rahu so effective at changing us? It certainly isn’t charm or persuasion – Rahu introduces confusion and doubt that spurs deeper exploration of the planet being influenced. Additionally, Rahu implements harsh realities – in this case, bursting Jupiter’s big, optimistic bubble.
I made a video covering what this transit represents (at the bottom) but I’d like to write about some things that didn’t make it into the video.
Rahu transiting Jupiter’s affect on finances
Somehow I neglected to mention one of the main things Jupiter governs: wealth. I’ve seen many people change their thoughts around money and abundance during this transit. Some suffered devastating losses: through speculative investments, theft, or amassing too much debt. Others got into the laws of attraction and the “wealth mindset.” The point is – it was always a change in mindset that lead to greater wisdom around money.
I am reminded now of when my mother’s online gambling addiction came to a head and she filed for bankruptcy (Rahu was transiting her Jupiter). She swore to live modestly and frugally after that. That didn’t exactly stick…but we’ll see what happens next time Rahu crosses her Jupiter.
People can come into more money or find themselves in an absolute financial drought, ironically sometimes at the same time (more money doesn’t necessarily mean fewer expenses).
Reality Checks
Jupiter is hope, faith, and optimism. Even if you’re not a faith-based person, you still have beliefs and areas you rely on hope. Sometimes, the ideas we hold as true don’t always hold up in the real world. When Rahu transits Jupiter, events will conspire to put those beliefs to the test, and to see how your beliefs may be holding you back from growth. A person may also become completely unrealistic, or maybe even fanatical during this time.
So next time you’re going through this transit, pay attention to how some of your ingrained thoughts and beliefs are being challenged.
