People often ask questions as though they see their horoscope as something being inflicted upon them, as something outside themselves that cannot be changed. The chart is a part of you that reflects your consciousness and experiences. The highest use of a birth chart is as a guide to self-mastery – not something to feel resolved to.
I understand the desire to want a sense of security that things will be ok, or to inquire about areas of life out of sheer curiosity and anticipation. However, when I get questions like “Can I start a business?” or “Will I find someone who loves me?” I see them as cues for what needs to be healed or developed. It is a sign that the person has resolved to their current circumstances rather than claiming their power. This post is more about learning not to let your horoscope hold you back if it indicates something negative.
If you love yourself fully, you would not need to ask if someone else “will love me one day.” It would be drawn to you like a powerful magnet. When you love yourself, your value becomes HIGH and everyone can sense it. There are lovesick and caring people who are extremely attentive in relationships but keep attracting partners who don’t reciprocate. Turn all that love, care, and attentiveness back on yourself and witness how it will change the pattern.
When it comes to success in your endeavors, it always comes down to hard work and consistent effort. Want to know what the horoscopes of successful people look like? All they show is if the person has the ability to follow what inspires them and stick with it. My belief is that if you’re insightful and introspective enough to be looking into your horoscope, you can apply that curiosity to any endeavor or area of life you want to improve. These are just two examples of the more common questions that people ask without considering the power they have to influence it.
Self-Mastery is Not Easy
At some point in life, usually after our Saturn Return, we each have to take responsibility for any baggage we’re carrying that may be holding us back. Difficulty in the chart, like not being open enough to follow your heart, or having a bad temper, not speaking your truth, fear, doubt, these can all be overcome. In fact, they must be overcome if you are to grow in this life. Change our questions from “Will I be happy?” or “Will I be successful” to “How are my thoughts and actions limiting my happiness or success?”
Not everyone grew up in a culture where they were taught they could achieve anything they set out to do. In fact, the majority of the world population feel very restricted by the circumstances of their birth, family, social status, etc. I empathize. But, if you’re reading this then you at least have internet and a computer or smartphone, which is more than most.
But, even cultures that believe in the self-made man still encounter challenges and limiting beliefs. My message is not to let your birth chart become another one of those limiting beliefs. We all have areas of difficulty, but the choice is how to deal with them. Self-mastery means taking responsibility for everything that happens to us. It means letting go of guilt, blame, hurt, and anger. As you take back all the energy you have invested in those emotions, you’ll reclaim your power.
I use to quotes that rotated on the front page of this site, but then the plugin broke (lol) so I kept the one that I knew everyone needed to see. You have spiritual resources, there is a tremendous amount of support and help if you choose to ask. There is an entire universe inside of you waiting to be discovered. Don’t let your horoscope or something an Astrologer said hold you back. You are the master of your life, so go create something beautiful.
Peace,
